The founder of ecomail, Stuart Brown, previously worked in the live corporate events sector for over 15 years, producing conferences for major blue-chip companies.
Stuart says “I enjoyed this immensely but it involved spending a lot of time away from home travelling the world. This lifestyle is great when you are a single man with no commitments but in 2007 and 2008 respectively, my son and daughter were born. Apart from the, shock (and some would say foolishness!), of having two children so close together, it also meant I needed and wanted to be at home more to spend time with them and see them grow up”.
“I also wanted them to be able to play, enjoy the countryside, play football in the park, make dens in the woods and basically have a similar world to grow up in as I had as a kid. So, in May 2010, I came up with the concept of ecomail. ecomail is my attempt to make both of those goals possible. So, gone are the trappings of the jet-setting lifestyle I was lucky enough to have been part of and in it's place is pedal power, nappies and a desire to make the world, (in whatever small way I can), a better place for my children to grow up in”.
“I still have to earn a living and what better way to do this? Carbon neutral is the business “buzz word” at present, but realistically we are all going to have to make some big changes to achieve this goal. With oil prices only ever going to rise, it makes both environmental and financial sense for all of us to do everything we can to reduce our usage of fuel. ecomail is my attempt at not only attempting to right my own personal “environmental wrongs” of the past but also making things better for the future”.
